In the early hours of 2 nd February 1812, the French forces under Marechal Andrea Massena launched their attack into the Spanish Peninsula. The 6 th Infantry Corps and the 2 nd Guard Corps lead the right flank. On the following day, these troops attacked Wellingtons forces in and around St Jean de Jun. Meanwhile the 7 th and 9 th Infantry Corps attacked from their positions and on the 3 rd engaged a British and Spanish force at Figuera. Prince Eugene exceeding his original orders, has started operations against the Austrians in Northern Italy. Hopefully his chief of staff and close advisors can address his premature actions. Viva la France.
